Fall Festival 2001

At the 2001 Versailles Fall Festival the WCARC club members set up their booth on Lexington Ave. They sold drinks and raffle tickets all day until the drawing at 3:00 pm.

Club members ready the booth.

Field Day 2001

The WCARC members celebrated Field Day in 2001 at their normal location, the Woodford County Park football stadium. The sky was cloudy and threatening to rain. The portable antenna tower was set up and the tarp rigged as an awning just in time for the rain.

Field Day 2000

The WCARC members celebrated Field Day in 2000 at their normal location, the Woodford County Park football stadium. The “Pink Bunny” tower trailer was erected next to the consession stand for easy access to the restrooms. The tower supported an R7 multiband vertical and a Windom antenna in an inverted V configuration and the radios were set up on tables under the shelter. Saturday evening club members enjoyed dinner cooked on the gas grill.

Field Day 2003

The 2003 WCARC Field Day was celebrated at the Woodford County Park football stadium. We again used the “Pink Bunny” portable tower along with the Woodford County Emergency Management portable Command Post. The tower supported an R7 multiband vertical and a 160 meter dipole antenna in an inverted V configuration and three operating positions were radios were set up in the command post. We also had a satelite antenna set up outside under the shelter. As usual, Saturday evening club members enjoyed dinner cooked on the gas grill.

Field Day 2002

The WCARC members celebrated Field Day in 2002 at their normal location, the Woodford County Park football stadium. But this year the Woodford County Emergency Management office suggested they use the new Emergency Command Post. The new trailer provided air conditioning, a generator, and space to set up 3 radio stations. With the WCARC portable 55 foot tower parked next door this provided an ideal field day environment.
